An eleven day performance on the occasion of the opening
of Mike Meiré’s new space,
Cologne, October 2004
Wednesday, October 27.

Chan Marshall from the folkrock band CAT POWER played solo among the trees of Upstate New York in an outdoor projection of Mark’s film “Speaking For Trees”.
Inside the factory, Mark set up a huge wall carrying dozens of rainbow colored paperstripes. In his bedroom Mark did a slide show with pictures of his former house in Brooklyn, just to have a little piece of home in Cologne...
Friday, October 29, “Moonlit Noon”.

Big leaves of mangold carrying shrimps and curry, self-made gnocchis in tomato sauce, spicy figs and dates displayed with garlic on ribbed card-board: serving food as a gesture of warm welcome.
Sunday, October 31.
Incense changes the factory into a modern temple. Triangular green cushions emblematise the geometry of a garden. Mark’s stage is based in the heart of the factory. Hundreds of candles generate a magical atmosphere. On the wall, the projection of “Speaking For Trees” - Chan Marshall of CAT POWER singing - evokes connotations of a strange and mysterious world. At 11 p.m. Mark starts his concert:”Together We Yell"...
